We are seeking a VP or Director of Finance and Administration who will play a critical role in the senior leadership team, with strategic decision-making and operations.

Reporting to the President, this hands-on position is responsible for all facets of financial and accounting operations. The ideal candidate would have experience managing others and 4 years of experience as a controller with the desire and skills to develop into a Chief Financial Officer focused on strategic and long-term planning.

Our firm has seen huge organic growth for a professional services firm, growing from 4 to 25 employees in the last 2 years. The future huge growth potential requires a skilled and strategic finance leader.

To start, this position may have an outsourced accounting solution report to them, but the position is significantly hands-on and task-oriented. As we continue to grow, you would be able to add additional support - either internally or outsourced. We are looking for someone with the ability to think strategically, but also with an appreciation to roll up their sleeves and do any of the finance/accounting work that needs to get done in a fast-growing start-up.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage month-end closing and reporting

  • Lead, Manage, and Hold People Accountable.

  • Maximize Enterprise Value - Maximize our enterprise value by continually finding ways to cut costs, reduce shrinkage and increase revenue.

  • Forecasting/Budgets/Reporting/Org-wide Scorecards - Financial analysis, forecasting, creating budgets, setting up reporting systems and providing inputs on KPIs at all levels of the organization.

  • Install and Monitor Financial Controls/Processes/Tools - Design and create financial controls, processes and tools throughout the organization, but with an initial focus on ensuring that what our customers pay for is what we actually provide to them.

  • Accounts Receivable & Payable - Primarily focus on accounts receivable and working with internal departments and customers to ensure invoices are paid timely.

  • Create New / Manage Existing Benefits - Manage existing benefits contracts and relationships and manage the renewal process on a yearly basis.

  • Tax Compliance - Ensure our tax obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner.

Job requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience at a professional services consulting firm of 150 people or less

  • Experience with a firm that sells or resells items and tracking the cash flow for these COGS.

  • Experience creating and managing complex cash flow and P&L reports.

  • Experience with Accrual Reporting, bonus for experience converting a company from Cash to Accrual.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance roles.

  • Experience in finance leadership roles.

  • Advanced Excel Skills

  • Advanced-Data Analysis Skills
